A wet/dry vacuum on the end of the pipe can pull the clog out. A steady stream afterward usually means the line is clear again.

If the same clog comes back soon after, a tech should take over. Recurring blockages point to algae buildup inside the system.

Tip #2: Change a filter that’s blocking airflow

Insulation that’s thin, missing, or falling apart is usually the cause. Rewrapping the duct in the affected section keeps warm air away from the metal and stops the moisture.

Tip #5: Check for loose duct connections

Duct sections can loosen over time. A gap in the connection pulls humid air inside the system, and that moisture condenses when it hits cold metal. The closest vent becomes the exit point.

Loose ducts often leave streaks of dust on the outside of the connection. A tech can reseal the gaps with mastic or proper tape made for HVAC work.
